Job DescriptionWhat you will be doing:Reporting to the Chief Steward, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead, teach, coach and inspire a team of up to 10 overnight staff
- Specifically responsible for the midnight cleaning shift.
- Ensure all colleagues arrive for their shift on time, well groomed and ready to work
- Assign work stations to all colleague during line-up and pass on
- Ensure that all colleagues are follow the proper procedure and standards as directed by the department and the hotel
- Ensure that all kitchens are cleaned, organized and sanitized
- Ensuring inter-departmental communication and cooperation
- Ensure that garbage & recycling removal is completed in a timely manner
- Assist in the proper usage of all chemicals within the department and outlets, and provide appropriate training in accordance with provincial WHMIS legislation
- Conduct individual development discussion and performance reviews
- Conduct performance discussions and ensure correct progressive action is taken
- Ensure all equipment is cleaned, maintained and properly stored
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings
- Perform walkthrough with stewarding leadership on a regular basis
- Ensure storage room are kept clean and organized
- Be flexible to work the occasional morning/afternoon shift for coverage
- Have a proactive eye for detail and cleanliness
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
- Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives
- Carry out any other tasks as assigned
QualificationsYour experience and skillset includes:
- Previous experience in food and beverage
- Previous leadership experience an asset
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Attention to detail
