Title: Oracle DBA / Web AdministratorState Role Title: Information Technology Specialists IIIHiring Range: $105,000 – $135,000Pay Band: 6Agency: Virginia Department of HealthLocation: Dept of HealthAgency Website: https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/Recruitment Type: General Public – GThis position requires the employee to be in the VDH office in Richmond, VAJob DutiesThe Database/Web Administrator serves as a consultant, assisting with the review of various databases and application servers, such as WebLogic, Apex, ORDS, and DB. Works with VITA to perform application and database upgrades and to resolve network, storage, and app server issues. Maintains regulatory audit documentation and ensures vulnerability fixes with ISOs. Collaborates with small teams,
development, CM, QA, ISOs, and other staff to ensure the core functionalities are performed. May work additional weekend hours to perform upgrades and patches to maintain servers.The Virginia Department of Health offers 12 paid holidays, medical, dental, vision and life insurance, retirement plans (including 401a Cash Match and 457 Deferred Compensation Plan) as well as sick, family/personal, and annual leave.Minimum Qualifications Considerable IT experience and Oracle database administration and Apex/ORDS administration and support.
 Knowledge and experience with Linux administration for supporting Oracle database and application servers (WebLogic/fusion middleware/OHS/reports servers).
 Experience in shell scripting and job scheduling.
 Experience with setting up and upgrading Weblogic 12.2.1.3/12.2.1.4, and setting up Oracle OHS 12213 on Linux.
 Experience handling Production Oracle 19c environments including PL/SQL, OEM, RMAN, Data Guard.
 Experience managing Oracle databases using multi-tenant architecture (CDB/PDB)/backup/restore
 Experience setting up Oracle Apex 19 and above, Oracle ORDS 18 and above on WebLogic, interfacing with Oracle OHS to standup applications.
 Experience performing database upgrades and applying quarterly PSU Patching for Oracle database using OEM Provisioning Tool/fleet maintenance on OEM 13c.
 Experience writing Unix/python shell scripts.
 Experience in Backup and Recovery of large databases from RMAN online backups, PDB/CDB backup restore options etc.
 Knowledge of Tablespace Encryption and Oracle Advanced security tools.
 Experience configuring and managing Oracle Fusion Middleware, Web Tier, Apache, and Tomcat Servers; configuring mod pl/sql, ORDS and Apex Administration 5.0 or higher
 Experience with Restful Web Services.
 Experience with Cloud environments OCI/AWS/Azure and managing large scale environments in Cloud
 Experience in Oracle OCI and migrating applications from on-prem to OCI.
 Experience in building and managing Oracle Databases using AWS RDS, experience in AWS Cloud Technologies specifically RDS, EC2, ELB, S3Additional Considerations Proficient with using SQL developer/ TOAD and Grid control tools and Designer experience.
 Amazon AWS certification preferred.
